Planning a trip to the north?
Don’t overpack — but don’t miss the essentials either.
Here’s a packing list I swear by — based on real experience, sudden weather changes, and forgotten items I won’t forget again.

Summer (May–August):
- Cotton shirts
- Light jacket (evenings are cool)
- Sunglasses + cap
- Comfy joggers or sandals
Winter (Nov–Feb):
- Thermal innerwear
- Heavy jacket
- Woolen cap + gloves
- Thick socks (2–3 pairs)
All seasons:
- Scarf or dupatta
- Decent walking shoes
- Extra mask (dust in mountain roads)
🎒 Must-Have Items
- Power bank
- Water bottle (refillable)
- Travel-size toiletries
- Tissue + wet wipes
- Sunscreen
- Basic first aid (Band-Aids, painkillers)
- Snacks (biscuits, dry fruit, gum)
📱 Tech Essentials
- Phone charger + backup cable
- Camera or GoPro (if you have one)
- SIM card (Zong or Jazz works well)
- Offline maps (download in advance)
- Flashlight or headlamp (some areas have no lights)
Extras That Help
- Small towel
- Slippers
- Earplugs (for noisy buses)
- Copies of ID card
- Cash (don’t rely on ATMs up north)
Tip: Always check weather 2 days before leaving. Mountains love surprises.
Happy packing!
